Maps: Latest Eviction Data

Updated on: March 17, 2025

Important reminders about the data:

  • The numbers reported in this research represent the lower bound metrics of tenants displaced by the eviction process or evicted in Oregon.

    • It does not capture ‘Notices of Termination’ served to tenants that don't result in a court case.

    • Of the eviction cases that get filed at a court in Oregon, this data only includes data on eviction cases filed at a circuit court. 90% of all eviction cases were filed in a circuit court. The remaining 10% of cases were filed in a justice court.

    • These maps display only data in the 26 counties in which circuit court data provide decent, high or full visibility of the eviction landscape in that county. To learn more about what level of visibility circuit court data provide for by county visit the Data Availability page.

  • These maps display the data for the last 12 months, with a one month lag.

  • For additional context and data from previous years, visit the corresponding topic pages: Eviction Cases (Filings) and Eviction Case Outcomes

The first map displays three eviction data topics. Use the menu tabs at the top of the map to choose which data topic you would like to be displayed. This map displays the data for the last 12 months. The three topics you can choose from are:

  • Filings: the number of eviction cases filed in that location in the past twelve months.

  • Filing Rates: the number of eviction cases filed per one hundred rental units in that location in the past twelve months.

  • Judgments: the number of judgments of eviction issued in that location in the past twelve months.

This map displays the data at both the county level and the census tract level. Zoom out to see the data displayed at the county level and zoom in to see it displayed at the census tract level.

Data sources description & methodology

The eviction filing rate is defined as the number of evictions filed divided by the number of rental units reported in the specific geographical area, as reported by the American Community Survey 2022 5 year estimate in table B25003. For example, a county with 500 filings and 20,000 rental units would have an eviction filing rate of 0.025, or 2.5 filings per 100 rental units.

Census tract and county boundaries are sourced from the US Census Bureau. For more information on these boundaries, see the US Census Bureau Glossary on County and Census Tracts.
